My summer in a nutshell

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 23, 2008, 7:05 AM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Converting Vegetarians- Infected Mushroom
This summer is going to be rather intense and busy, and righteously fun. I'm currently packing for my trip back west to London. The bedroom looks like an absolute bombshell but eh, it'll hopefully get some more significant progress by the end of the day so I can spend more time spinning poi at the harbour.

So this is what I'm up to this season:

April 30th, flying back to Ontario.
Halifax-Toronto-London

May 24 weekend, bussing it up to Toronto for Anime North (still working on my costume for that)
London-Toronto-London

August 7th, I'm visiting Dad courtesy of his AMAZING girlfriend Shelley. Spending two weeks there, then heading back to London to pack for Halifax, then back to the East Coast.
London-Toronto-Vancouver-Toronto-London-Halifax

What a summer. I can't wait! Back to packing and hopefully some sewing and poi later. If anyone wants to hang out upon my epic return, flag me down. I'll be spending my days working at the golf course (including the day after I get back...ohhh my body isn't going to forgive me for that one). My Thursday nights will be spent spinning with the Fire Conclave in Victoria park. I've ordered my first fire set last night, sooo excited! And my weekends? Well, my weekends will be spent relaxing and hanging out with my good friends.

PS- The boxes are trying to kill me. I need less stuff. *tears*

How time flies

I'm going to try updating this thing more often...perhaps with stories of my experiences with Halifax so far, things happened in the past, my own rp running through my head, I dunno. I gotta document this somehow. I'm also going to be uploading some shots at some point from a fashion show I documented last week, I got to sit at the press table. It was pretty friggin' sweet.

In other news I'll be back in Ontario in just under a month...ohhh how I don't want to return. Hopefully this'll be the last time and then I'll move away for good come next September. We'll see. We'll see.

Keep your eyes peeled.

Old pair of jeans

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 20, 2008, 6:52 PM

To everyone that has hurt me in the past and I continue to carry that emotional burden with, like an old pair of jeans. It's enough. It's time for me to move on. It's time for me to be happy. Fatboy Slim style.

Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na
Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na

All you used to do was put me down
But I found a way to pick myself up off the ground
And all you used to do was criticise me
But now I found the good and I emphasise ya see

You would always get so sensitive
And try to turn your transgressions into my guiltiness
But now I'm certain of the way I live
And what I'm responsible for in this twisted game

And it's such a shame
That you try to make pain
Another word for my name
Whether giving or receiving
It's one the same
Just one more link
In your long-ass chain
But it's time to break
This frame and my strengthful will
Time to jump off this negative cycle we've built
Gave my heart
But my self-respection you won't steal
Now it's time to let ya know if you can hear me feel me

Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na
Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na

So I asked my momma for her two cents
And then I asked my little sister and I asked my friend
Then I asked my poppa once and I asked him again
Came two little consensus from all them opinions
That life is too short to be unhappy
And since I know what I'm worth there'll be no settling for dirt
Knowing what I deserve is gold
If I want diamonds then I can't settle for coal

Maybe I was just too strong to let go
Maybe I was just too weak to let it show
Maybe I was just too stubborn to say "No"
But whatever the case I can't take it no more

Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na
Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na

Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na
Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na

Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na
Na, na na, na na na, naaa na na, na na na

Sometimes I think maybe we'll patch it all up
Like a favourite pair of jeans that you won't give up on
Or maybe one of these arguments will make up
And start again like when we started this up
Back when everything was fresh
And every moment a blessing
I'd laugh at all of your jokes
You'd listen to my suggestions
One mind, one soul,
With common decimation
Now we can't help but fight over the direction

Busy busy!

Alright, so the Christmas season has come and gone, this is what I've got to report-

I went back to my hometown for a few weeks while I was off. Saw a lot of people that I both wanted and didn't want to see. But that's alright. I got some drawings done, and picked up A LOT of music. I must have gotten around 6 coheed and cambria CD's, some primus, radioheads "amnesiac", and bought the movie "What the Bleep?". All in all, good purchases. Although I'm now kinda wishing I had kept the money. I'm under a bit of financial stress right now.

I'm back in school and the first day back I got the status of my student loan. After tuition was knocked off, OSAP decided that $1500 is more than enough to last me until April. So, I've dropped a few courses and I'm trying out for a new job this weekend. My schedule has filled up to the brink and I think that's mostly good. I love being busy and this will all keep me on my toes. We'll see how things go in the long run, but so far, I think I can handle things. So far.

I got some laboradite in the mail from my father this morning. My god it's a beautiful stone. Although I need to craft a new base for it, as the one I currently have underneath of it isn't enough to fully support it. The fissures, shines, and overall pattern of the mineral is simply beautiful. I hope I don't have to sell this off in order to help make funds. I've already got a few emergency measures in place.

After dropping my courses, a few hundred dollars have been put in my student account. This can be taken out or simply left in to help tuition for next semester. I've also got my credit card, 100 in the bank, and 100 in my mini bank. Now with the job I'm going to be picking up (it's not official yet, but I'm determined), that should help carry the rest. It's damned stressful- but ah, such is life.

I think I'm going to get back to my book and prioritize the rest of my week. So far this is what it's looking like:

Thursday: studio 9-12, class 1-5:30
Friday: Work 9-5, possibly darkroom 6-9
Saturday: Work 9-5
Sunday: Work 11-5
Monday: class 1-5:30
Tuesday: depends on if I get hired or not

As you can see...things are busy. But some art will be posted soon. And with any luck I'll get some quality time with the tablet. Ttyl kids.

New Year, New Art

Journal Entry: Sun Dec 9, 2007, 9:55 AM
  • Mood: Pleased
  • Listening to: Chocolate Rain
  • Reading: Art history notes
  • Watching: YMTD
  • Eating: Lunch
My god. I just don't update this thing anymore, do I?

I've been busy with school as of late. Things are starting to settle down though and I'm gradually approaching my three week vacation. It'll be a great time to create some art hopefully, and when I get back to a scanner in January, I'll hopefully be able to show you guys.

However, I ask you, my watchers, what you would like to see more of. As you all know, I like to dabble in many different mediums. Photography? What kind? Landscapes? Artistic nudes? Studio work? Do you want to see more drawings? Again, what kind? Do you wish to have fantasy artwork, animal based stuff, humans? What about painting? Does anyone wish to see more digital painting or acrylic work? The lists are endless.

I'll be taking courses next semester in the realm of digital manipulation as well as heavy photographic studio work. So expect a lot in those areas. But I thank you for all who have watched me over the years and still continue to do so. I hope the new year brings in a lot of art on this account, as I want to continue striving to be a better artist. This year has absolutely been an amazing one, and I can't wait to see what the next one brings.
